AFTERCARE
Lumecca Peak IPL
Your essential recovery guidance, designed to help you feel informed and supported after treatment.
Right after
Cool the skin
Cool compresses as directed. Expect a mild sunburn feel. Darkening of spots is expected.
First 24–48 hours
Skip heat
Avoid extra heat, heavy sweat, and swimming if that is on your sheet. Do not pick crusts.
For 1–2 weeks
Protect from sun
Daily SPF is required. Treated brown spots typically darken, then flake. Do not pick the flakes. No tanning beds during a series.
Results & Healing Timeline
Minimal downtime. Redness can last hours to a couple of days. Treated brown spots typically darken, then flake over about 1–2 weeks.
Pigment often crusts and sheds over 7–14 days. Existing FAQ notes a 2–3 session range.
Follow-Up
A skin and results review is commonly planned around 4 weeks after IPL. If you are having a series, the next session is often scheduled about 4 weeks after the previous treatment, once your provider confirms that your skin has recovered. The interval may change with the condition treated, skin response, and sun exposure. Follow your individual plan and contact us earlier if recovery is worsening or any warning signs appear.
When to contact us
Call The W MedSpa promptly for blistering, burns, open or weeping skin, severe or increasing pain, spreading redness or warmth, worsening swelling, fever, or pus. Report a cold-sore outbreak or persistent light or dark patches that differ from the expected temporary darkening of treated spots. Seek urgent medical assessment for eye pain, light sensitivity, or any vision change after IPL. Do not wait for a routine appointment or text response.
