How Does It Work?
Skin should be clean and product-free. Topical numbing is typically applied. The provider selects tip, depth, and energy. The handpiece is placed with firm contact; pinpoint bleeding can be normal. Afterward the area is cooled and aftercare is reviewed.
Face often 30–60 minutes plus numbing time. Body often 60–90 minutes depending on area.

Preparing for Your Treatment
4 weeks before
No tan
Avoid tanning beds, sunburn, and self-tanners on the treatment area.
1 week before
Pause actives
Pause retinoids, acids, and scrubs if your provider agrees. Pause waxing, peels, and laser on the area.
A few days before
Share history
Ask about antivirals if you get cold sores. Disclose pacemaker, metal implants, pregnancy, Accutane history, and recent injectables.
Day of treatment
Arrive prepared
Arrive with a clean, product-free treatment area. Tell the clinic about any new medications or illness.
Aftercare & Recovery
First 24 hours
Cool and rest
Cool with fan or air as directed. Expect heat and tightness. Avoid sweat, hot tubs, saunas, and swimming for 24–48 hours.
Days 1–3
Gentle skincare
Use a gentle cleanser, pat dry, and a bland moisturizer. No picking. Makeup often waits 24–72 hours.
Days 3–7
Let skin flake
Small scabs may form and flake. Let them shed. Use mineral sunscreen after your provider’s clearance. Avoid extra sun.
After about a week
Restart slowly
Restart actives only when cleared. Daily SPF helps keep results.
Recovery
Minimal downtime. Redness and warmth for 1–3 days is typical; tiny scabs may flake over the first week.
